Not all chiropractors are the same

Why the technique your chiropractor uses matters more than the title — and the questions to ask before booking anywhere.

There are over 100 named techniques in chiropractic. Some are evidence-based, some are not. Some clinics do one technique on every patient regardless of fit; some clinics combine three or four based on what your spine actually needs. Same license. Wildly different care.

Three questions to ask before you book

  • What technique do you use, and do you adjust everyone the same way? (Anyone who answers 'yes' to the second part is a red flag.)
  • Do you require X-rays before treatment? (Some cases need them. Most don't. Mandatory imaging on every patient is usually a billing pattern, not clinical necessity.)
  • Do you sell care packages up front? (Selling 36 visits before they've adjusted you once means the plan was made before the exam.)
